The National Science Education Leadership Association (NSELA) and the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA) invite you to attend a Summer Leadership Institute, June 24â28, 2012 in Austin, Texas.
This immersive experience will bring together scores of individual science educators, teams (leaders and teachers), and administrators to explore the Kâ12 Framework and draft Next Generation Science Standards, determine key features of each, noting comparisons, contrasts and shifts in focus.

Participants will identify the "next steps," develop a deep understanding of supporting research for reform, engage in the use of models and vignettes to demonstrate the practice of science, and apply new knowledge to their own unique professional environment.

Featured speakers will share their insights throughout the four-day Institute, and many differentiated breakout sessions provide smaller groups the ability to challenge the status quo and build a personal or team plan of action for implementation into their classrooms, schools, and districts.

1. Join or renew your membership.
NSELA members receive a discounted rate so make sure that you are a member before you register. If you are a new member, complete the online membership form and you will receive an email with instructions on paying your dues. Current members can also get information on renewing online.
You will also have the option of obtaining a discounted joint membership to NSELA and NSTA when you register.
2. NSELA Register for the Summer Leadership Institute on the NSTA web site.
If you have completed Step 1 then you can register as a member.
You may register as an individual online with a credit card or by mailing in a form with a check or purchase order. Teams of at least 3 may also register together at a discount with a mailed in form only.
You will also have the option to pay for a joint membership to NSTA and NSELA for $95.
3. Make a Hotel Reservation.
