Become a PartnerFor 60 years, NSELA has catalyzed leadership to maximize effective science teaching and learning in a complex and changing environment. We connect and support emerging and experienced leaders by providing high-quality professional development, a collegial network, access to research and resources, and a voice for leaders in science education. NSELA is an affiliate of the National Science Teachers Association and the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and it has more than 500 members who hold a variety of science education leadership positions including department heads, supervisors, coordinators, university science and science education faculty, administrators, science resource teachers, teacher advocates, elementary science lead teachers and others. NSELA also has 15 affiliated state leadership groups. NSELA hosts two immersive professional development opportunities each year, the NSELA Leadership Summit and NSELA Summer Leadership Institute. Each features nationally recognized leaders in science and STEM education, as well as interactive opportunities for participants to solve problems of practice in a community forum while enjoying collegial and professional discourse.
