Webinar Description: Data literacy is fast becoming a foundational skill to become an educated citizen of the world. In this session Dr. Aaron Reedy, former high school science teacher and cofounder of DataClassroom, will share specific ideas that to build data literacy across middle and high school curriculum. From techniques to help students approach graph interpretation to, teacher PD and up skilling, to practices to improve student data collection and labs, Reedy will cover a wholistic strategy to improve data literacy from students across a school district in grades 6-12. This session will be aimed at Science Leaders, but the strategies presented will be broadly applicable to a range of classrooms and all are welcome to attend.

Presenter Bio
Dr. Aaron Reedy is a scientist, teacher, and entrepreneur. He has been a public advocate for collaborations between scientists and teachers since his days as a Chicago Public Schools teacher and has spoken on the subject at events including the TED main stage, TEDx, and TEDActive. Aaron founded DataClassroom to produce digital tools that help students around the world to build quantitative skills and think like scientists.
